One of our most popular Spring release wines since inception. This release is a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Syrah. The Syrah was sourced from nearby Maple Leaf & Artemisia Vineyards, while the Merlot is from our own Estate. Medium to full body; aromatic, with soft tannins and a touch of pepper. Barrel aged 17 months. Plum, cassis and cherry flavours with a long finish. Pair with lamb, barbeque, pizza, pasta or hamburgers. Can be aged to further soften and enable the aromas to fully develop. Production of 275 cases this year.
Review of our 2018 vintage: “This is 50% each of Syrah and Merlot, barrel-aged for 17 months. It begins with aromas of dark cherry and black pepper, leading to flavours of raspberry and black currant with a hint of black pepper. The wine has long ripe tannins. 91.” – John Schreiner
