2020 Pinot Gris Single Vineyard – Available April 17, 2021

Summer was cooler than we would have liked, so to ensure full ripeness we thinned the crop 50%.  We were rewarded at harvest with rich, ripe fruit character and balanced acidity.  All fruit is picked by hand.  Following removal of stems, and gentle crush, the juice was left in contact with the skins to enhance varietal character. Fermentation at cool temperatures is done to preserve aromatic character.  Fresh and clean with crisp apple and ripe pear character, this vintage was fermented dry. Pair with seafood, poultry and mild cheese.

Review of our 2019 vintage: “This wine begins with aromas of pear mingled with a hint of almond. On the palate, there are flavours of ripe pear and ripe apple with spice on the finish. Both the texture and the flavours are rich. The complexity of this wine was enhanced with skin contact and a modest, but crucial, oak ferment on a portion. 91.” – John Schreiner.  Awards for previous vintages: Gold Medals – All Canadian Wine Awards – 2011 and 2015 Vintages.  Platinum Award – top Pinot Gris in the Pacific Northwest – Yakima – 2011 Vintage.
