2022 Red Back – Available April 25th

$42.00

Named after the Australian cousin to the Black Widow spider –  Red Back is a blend of Cabernet and Merlot: sourced from the Naramata Bench. Aromas of dried fruits, coffee, chocolate, and toasted oak. Barrel aged 17 months. Pair this full-flavoured dry red with robust dishes.  Further bottle aging is suggested to enable the wine to further soften and for the full development of aromas.  Only 100 case production. Our 2019 vintage was rated 92 Points (John Schreiner).

Description

2019 Vintage: “This is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah, aged 17 months in oak. This is a bold wine that is drinking well but will age very well. Aromas and flavours of black currant and dark cherry are mingled with notes of chocolate, tobacco and oak. 92.” John Schreiner June 2021 – johnschreiner.blogspot.com

Our 2018 vintage also received 92 points from John  Schreiner: “This wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. It announces itself dramatically with aromas of plum, cherry, blackberry, toasted oak and coffee. The aromas are echoed richly on the palate, with a hint of chocolate in the finish. ”

Silver Medal – All Canadian Wine Championships – 2014 vintage.
